Chef Tim Jansen - Ron Gastrobar
Tim Jansen started washing dishes in the kitchen at the age of 15 as a part-time job. Here, he worked in a cultural environment with an Indonesian chef who sparked his interest in the Indonesian kitchen. When it became time to go to college, he started his education in the hospitality industry. Thereafter, he started working in an Indonesian kitchen for chef Agus Hermawan, whom taught Tim everything he knows about the Indonesian cuisine. By now, Tim (28 years old) has been working at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia for three years.
Till this day Tim gets – and is – still inspired by the Indonesian cuisine. As this cuisine is also booming in the Netherlands, he really enjoys working at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia where he continues to learn from Agus Hermawan. Tim’s favorite dish to prepare is ‘Rendang’, because they keep improving and adapting the dish at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia. He finds that the taste of rendang differs between restaurants but is always delicious.
At Taste, Tim Jansen will demonstrate how to make a delicious Indonesian dish, slowly baked lambchop with salted butter ketjap sauce, in the NEFF Chef’s Theater.
