Chef & owner Wilco Berends - De Nederlanden
Wilco Berends has been a chef at De Nederlanden since 2006. In 2008, however, he also became co-owner of the restaurant and hotel and in 2012, he and his wife completely took over.
Restaurant De Nederlanden is located on the Goudkust of Amsterdam. Boats sailing over the Vecht can moor at the little dock that belongs to De Nederlanden. From there, you have direct access to the royal terrace located close to the water. Perfect for a nice summer day. But you can also enjoy a drink on colder days, as the terrace is pleasantly heated. In fact, you can almost always enjoy lunch or dinner outside.
Wilco and his team are excellent in preparing classic dishes. Their different preparations of lobsters and oysters are truly excellent. The team is very close which immediately gives you the warm feeling of coming home.
