The concept of Benji’s was inspired by the tropical spheres of Bali, where the western world implemented its knowledge about healthy, sustainable, fresh and colorful food in the authentic Eastern kitchens. Using the Asian attention to detail, traditional brunch dishes were transformed into colorful artworks with fruits and other fresh products that were handpicked from their own Balinese backyard.
Blown away by this way of serving food, in 2016 the owners transformed a beautiful corner building on probably the gloomiest street of Amsterdam, the Wibautstraat, into an urban jungle. The goal was to create a space where people can escape the high paced city life and find themselves in a peaceful green oasis combined with an industrial feel. Benji’s is the place where both locals and tourists can imagine themselves on holiday, surrounded by tropical plants, enchanted by the colors of fresh products, enjoy traditional dishes with a modern twist and where carnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan go hand in hand because there is enough choice on the menu for everyone.
Meanwhile, Benji’s has opened three locations in Amsterdam, where in addition to their well- known brunch menu they also serve awesome dinner and cocktails at their newest locations in Amsterdam West and New-West.
