Pass by Restaurant-Café In de Waag for a unique and magical experience!
Restaurant-Café In de Waag is situated in the Nieuwmarkt, a square in the part of Amsterdam that never sleeps. In the centre of the square you will find a Grand looking castle, called ‘De Waag’ or formerly known as the St. Anthony’s Gate. Originally built in 1488, this characteristic monumental structure now houses Restaurant-Café In de Waag: the ideal place in the heart of Amsterdam for a coffee, lunch, reception, meeting or dinner.
This magnificent historical building is illuminated by 300 candles, from their three chandeliers, to every wall and table, which gives a warm cosy atmosphere.
Their chef uses seasonal products to help create their delicious menu. With classical French and a touch of Dutch flare you can find many international inspired dishes composed from local products. Their aim is to provide a classic menu with many recognizable, welcoming dishes elevated and reimagined to suit with the exciting city around us.
In addition to his interest in purchasing the best meat and fish, their chef has a great passion for vegetables, resulting in a menu full of fresh and organic produce. Enjoy a lovely dinner in a city gate full history with a nice glass of wine and good company.
Furthermore, as of May this year they have a brand-new terrace, where they would love to welcome you for a nice coffee, cold drink, bite or dinner.
